Harun Asad, Founder

Harun is the founder and president of Race for Peace.  As a sports enthusiast and active volunteer, he has participated in collegiate athletics, and marathons and walkathons to support charities.  In addition, Harun is a pro bono brand strategist for the Taproot Foundation, and is an advisor to the Cyrano Project, a New York based nonprofit providing marketing communications services and education to charities
.  He has an extensive background in marketing and has held several leadership and management positions with AOL and USA Today.


Omid Omidvar, Ph.D., Board Member 

Omid is a noted technologist and philanthropist. He has authored numerous scientific books, papers and journals. He is currently a Senior Executive of Motorola in Washington, D.C.


Bill Snyder, Board Member
 
Bill is a marketing executive in New York City and actively involved in several charities. He started his career at CBS and has worked for several well known design firms and media agencies. He is currently Vice President of Charley, Inc., a design firm he started in 2004.

Terry Kent, Board Member
 
Terry Kent is an executive leader with over twenty five years of experience in the business information and software solutions industry. With an emphasis on managing the operational and cultural change associated with corporate growth and acquisition integration activities, Terry has been actively involved in the transformation of over 30 companies throughout his career. Terry has held executive level positions for major global brands including Dun and Bradstreet and VNU. He is currently a Partner at Baltic Ventures, LLC in New York City, a venture services firm he helped form, and is a founding member and U.S. CEO of Hippon, a newly launched, privately held answer-engine software company.

Steve Gehlen, Board Member
 
Steve Gehlen is an Internet, marketing and business development executive with over twenty years of corporate and nonprofit experience. He has been the top Internet strategist at companies such as Nike, Hollywood Entertainment, and Oregon Health & Science University. In 2004 Steve founded the Internet Strategy Forum, a nonprofit professional association with international presence. Prior to that Steve held board and executive positions with several other nonprofit organizations including the Microcomputer Managers Association, RAINS, and the Portland Creative Conference. Steve is also the co-founder and Festival Director of the American Roots Music Festival, an annual fundraising event for school music programs that celebrates original American music genres. Steve currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon.



Annette R. Fayad, Web Manager/Web Development

Annette is a Pension Analyst in Westchester, New York and has been actively involved with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization of New York since 2001. She was a team captain in the Race for the Kids run/walk 2006. She designs web pages in her free time.

Kate Leiser, Manager of Finance and Operations
 
Kate has several years of accounting, finance and operations experience. She is an avid runner having completed several marathons, and active inolvement in volunteer activity has been a big part of her life. Kate currently lives in Bronxville, New York with her husband.

Jennifer Anderson, Director of Operations and Strategic Planning
 
Jennifer is currently the CFO of a Nonprofit Healthcare company in Northern Westchester County, N.Y. and has held numerous director level financial positions in Nonprofit and Healthcare organizations since 1993. She is also actively involved with several nonprofit organizations in Westchester County. Jennifer has been committed in her career to developing sound business strategies to meet organizational goals and mission.
 
Rosalie Maiale, Fundraising Manager
 
Rosalie is passionate about donating her time for worthy causes and has several years of experience with nonprofit fundraising. Most recently, Rosalie served on the Board of Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority at St. John's University where she organized philanthropic events, community services, social events and speaker series. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in International Relations at The New School University in New York City. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from St. John's University.

La Donna Singh, Associate Marketing Manager
 
La Donna is a recent Hofstra University graduate, and is passionate about cultural awareness and other human rights related global issues.  She has been actively involved with Alpha Nu Omega Christian Sorority, Incorporated as a Public Relations Manager as well as various other faith-based associations.  La Donna plans to attend law school with an emphasis on International and Human Rights law.

Michelle Tooker, Associate Communications Manager
 
Michelle recently graduated with a Bachelor's in print and video communications. During college, Michelle traveled extensively and became passionate about promoting cultural awareness. She is particularly concerned with improving living conditions and education systems for children in developing countries. Her other interests include writing, photography, walking and the outdoors.

Celeste Bell, Associate Member Development Manager
 
Celeste is currently working in Benefits for the National Basketball Association. Prior to joining the NBA, she worked as an intern in the Communty Relations department for the Atlanta Falcons and the LPGA. She is also working towards a masters degree in Human Resource Management and Development at NYU. She is an avid runner and passionate community servant. 

Chris Smith, Associate Development Manager

Chris currently works for a sports fundraising company in Westchester, New York managing donations and developing graphics. He is passionate about the cause of cultural understanding and bridging racial divides. He is also a graphics artist and aspiring entrepreneur.  He currently lives in Bedford Hills, New York.

Jeff Howard, Team Leader and Development Manager

Jeff has led several fundraising campaigns both in the U.S. and the U.K for nonprofits such as Amnesty International, Plan, and the British Red Cross. He also directed the first ACLU grassroots campaign in U.S. history and worked on behalf of the DNC and other PACs.  Currently, Jeff works on the Operations team at DonorsChoose.org and manages the fulfillment of materials for public school teachers nationwide.  Jeff was educated at Webster University and majored in International Relations.  He is a running enthusiast and enjoys all things technology related.
